Your first appointment at Moret & Co: how does the discovery process work?

Scheduling a first appointment for a custom-made garment can raise some questions. Do I need to know what fabric to choose already? Will we try on a suit? Is this visit binding on ordering?

At Moret & Co, we prefer to start simply: an exchange to understand your project, then a discovery in the store, at your own pace. Here’s what you can expect from this first meeting with us in Cannes.

Before I welcome you, I like to chat with you on the phone. What piece are you looking for, and for what occasion? A wedding suit, a gala evening, a business outfit for work, or an important event… or even a first date. That counts too 🙂

Without going into your personal life, these few questions allow us to understand what you expect from your outfit. If you have a deadline, we talk about the date. This is also the time to discuss pricing and answer your first questions.

During this call, I will explain our way of working: at Moret & Co, we do not offer ready-made clothing. Your suit, your shirt, your trousers or your jacket will be created for you, from A to Z.

We have fitting rooms in our stores to help you discover the right cuts, feel the comfort, and help you envision your own creation. They are not your final outfit: together we will choose the fabric, color, proportions, and details of your own creation.

The discovery tour lasts about an hour and a half and does not involve any commitment on your part. In the meantime, the shop is entirely reserved for you.

We sit down at a table and we start chatting. You don’t need to know about fabrics, tailoring or the terminology of custom tailoring before coming. That’s our role: to explain the possibilities and to guide you.

I know that a first visit can be intimidating when you discover this universe. We therefore make sure that you feel comfortable, free to ask your questions and to say what you like, as well as what you don’t like.

We welcome people with very different backgrounds. Some have been wearing costumes for years; others come for their very first costume. All deserve the same attention and respect.

The appointment can involve a business suit, a shirt, a coat or a dress. sporty chic tailored to your needs, With jeans or chinos. You can come with some ideas or photos, without having to decide on all your choices in advance.

Are you preparing for a wedding on the Côte d’Azur — the French Riviera — or are you simply looking for a dress for everyday life? We take the time to understand your lifestyle and how you wear your clothes.

We present you fabrics according to budget the amount of time you want to dedicate to your project. This is an essential point for me: my role is to guide you towards a garment that suits you, within the framework we have defined together. My goal is not to make you spend as much as possible.

You must be able to look at the options, ask your questions and make your choices in peace. The discovery appointment is non-binding: you can also take the time to think it over.

And after the discovery? It depends on your project

For some customers, especially those who already know about tailoring or come for professional attire, we can proceed directly to the measurements if the choices are finalized and the customer wishes to place an order.

For one custom-made wedding costume, With the calendar being different, we can book the fabric in advance and measure the fabric closer to the event. A shirt, jeans, a jacket or a coat also require a tailored approach. We explain the next steps based on your project.

We’d like to leave you with some discoveries for your visit. What matters is that you have a good time. Choosing an outfit should remain a pleasure, with the freedom to move at your own pace.
